Dining table size for 4, 6 or 8 people
Each diner needs about 60 cm of table edge, or 70 cm to sit comfortably. A depth of 80 to 90 cm leaves room for plates and a serving dish in the middle.

Room around the table
Pulling out a chair and sitting down takes 70–80 cm between the table edge and the wall. If people walk behind the chairs, allow 100 cm or more. So a 160 × 90 cm table needs an area of about 320 × 250 cm.
