Furniture for a small bathroom

In a small bathroom two figures decide: the width left between the toilet and the wall or shower, and the clear space in front of the basin, which should be about 70 cm.

Vanity unit

The most common width is 60 cm; in a cloakroom, 40–50 cm. If the bathroom is narrow, look for reduced depths of 35–40 cm instead of the usual 45 cm: they give back almost a hand's width of space.

Tall cabinets and wall cabinets

A 30–35 cm wide tall cabinet fits beside the basin or behind the door and holds the whole family's towels and toiletries. Above the toilet, a 15–20 cm deep wall cabinet stays out of the way.
